Blacksburg is located on U.S. Route 460, just off U.S. Interstate 81 (exit 118), 40 miles west of Roanoke and approximately 50 miles east of the south exit of the West Virginia Turnpike (177).
From the 460 bypass, take the Price's Fork Road exit toward downtown. From Price's Fork Road turn right onto Stanger Street. The Center for Intelligent Material Systems and Structures is on the third floor of the New Engineering Building (room 310) at the corner of Stanger Street and Perry Street on the Virginia Tech campus.
